TUNING THE SUBARU EJ20 (P1)
This Subaru EJ20 P1 Haltech Tuning session was a UK first. We replaced the old OEM ECU with a brand new Haltech ECU — a first for a P1 in the UK.
There is a big story behind this P1. The new owner took on a project car that was in very poor condition. It needed serious work before it could be tuned.
Redline Motorsport rebuilt and prepped the engine. The entire chassis needed a full strip-down. They removed the old loom in favour of fresh wiring to suit the rebuilt engine and the new ECU.
The Subaru EJ20 engine was rebuilt from fresh OEM components. With the clean build in place, the Haltech ECU was the obvious choice. It offered the best flexibility and performance for this level of build. The result was a well-sorted, reliable P1 with strong power and excellent drivability.
