TUNING THE NISSAN VG30DETT
This Nissan VG30DETT came to FC Tuning for a custom ECU tune. The twin-turbocharged VG30DETT is the engine that powered the iconic Nissan 300ZX, producing strong power from a naturally smooth 3.0-litre V6 layout.
The VG30DETT is a less common engine in the UK tuning scene compared to Nissan’s inline-six RB and SR engines. However, it is a capable and rewarding engine to work with. With twin turbochargers fitted from the factory, the potential for tuning is significant.
We carried out a full custom ECU tune on the dyno to optimise fuelling, ignition timing, and boost control. The result was a smoother, more powerful VG30DETT with strong, reliable performance across the rev range. A great result for a classic Japanese sports car.
