TUNING THE NISSAN RB20DET (R32)

This Nissan RB20DET R32 drift taxi came in from the Driftworks stable for some TLC. It sports a lovely hybrid turbo built to the owner’s specification, and it makes a real difference to the power delivery.

The hybridised turbo on this RB20DET developed some serious kick. The engine responded well to the upgrade. However, the factory MAF sensor reached its limit under the increased flow. For safety, we had to detune the engine slightly while waiting for a correct Z32 MAF.

A defective Z32 MAF fitted mid-session forced us to revert to the stock unit for this visit. The car will return to unlock its full potential once the correct sensor is sourced.

For now, the FCTuningNistune ECU solution manages everything cleanly. The owner loves going sideways in style, and this R32 drift taxi delivers exactly that. Crack on sideways, Mr Drift Taxi.
