										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Powered by Haltech, Tuned by FC Tuning. We don&#8217;t get many of these nice conversions, so it was nice to be able to add some Haltech icing on the cake and set this 4G63 powered 4WD colt. Phase 2 would be to add some cams, verniers to dial in for max torque and an upgraded turbo and stretch the legs to the high 400s. More than enough in this chassis and a joy on the track and more than enough for the streets of London.</p>
<p>Fully conversion done on this Mitsubishi Colt with 4WD EVO running gear powered by the <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mitsubishi_4G63_engine">Mitsubishi 4G6</a>3. <p>The EVO 7 got the better of the younger EVO 8 on this first outing. We expect to see both cars back at the workshop for uprated cams and pulleys, then back on the dyno for breathing optimisation.</p>
<p>Great power from an old EVO 7. The <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mitsubishi_4G63_engine" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Mitsubishi 4G63</a> is a fantastic engine in stock form. With boost and basic bolt-on modifications, it responds very well to a custom tune. We use <a href="https://fctuning.com/apexi/">Apexi Power FC</a> and other ECU solutions to get the best from each build.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>A weak actuator let this <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mitsubishi_4G63_engine" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Mitsubishi 4G63</a> down on power during this session. Boost kept dropping off significantly, despite a supposedly new FORGE actuator fitted to the car.</p>
<p>The boost control system was not holding the target pressure. A weak spring was causing the wastegate to open too early. This robbed the engine of the power it was capable of making.</p>
<p>We will be back with a stronger spring, preloaded correctly to fight another day. With that sorted, we expect to extract another 20 to 30 horsepower from this solid 4G63. The <a href="https://fctuning.com/ecu-solutions/">custom ECU tune</a> is ready and waiting once the hardware issue is resolved.</p>
<p>This is a good example of why every component needs to be in good working order before a tune session. 										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Time for another stroked <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mitsubishi_4G63_engine" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Mitsubishi 4G63 EVO 8</a> sporting the impressive GTX3582R turbocharger. After seeing one of these turbos in action previously, we had a good idea of what to expect from this build.</p>
<p>A stroked 4G63 combined with a GTX3582R is a serious combination. The increased displacement from the stroker kit allows the engine to make strong torque low in the rev range. The large GTX turbo then extends the power all the way to the top end.</p>
<p>We carried out a full <a href="https://fctuning.com/ecu-solutions/">custom ECU tune</a> to match the build specification. Boost, fuelling, and ignition timing were all dialled in for maximum performance and reliability. The result is a street EVO that packs a serious punch. Great performance from a great build.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>A nice, straightforward tune session on this <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mitsubishi_4G63_engine" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Mitsubishi 4G63 EVO 9</a> GT. The modifications were clean and well chosen: a new exhaust from the turbine back, a panel air filter, and an independent electronic boost controller.</p>
<p>With the hardware in place, we reprogrammed the factory ECU to suit the new modifications and revised boost level. The <a href="https://fctuning.com/ecu-solutions/">custom factory ECU remap</a> was carried out on the dyno to ensure everything was dialled in precisely for this combination.</p>
<p>The result is a nippy, responsive EVO 9 GT that is perfect for daily driving. It has more power and sharper response, but remains smooth and easy to live with every day. 										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Part 1 of a 2.3 stroker <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mitsubishi_4G63_engine" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Mitsubishi 4G63 EVO 9</a> build. The owner opted for a 2.3-litre stroker kit to extract serious power from this EVO 9 platform. For now, we worked with the factory EVO 9 turbo, which was in great condition with relatively low mileage.</p>
<p>An AMS performance kit is on the way for Part 2. For this initial session, the factory ECU was used to get the baseline tune established. The 2.3 stroker EVO 9 still produced very strong results on the stock turbo with the correct ECU calibration.</p>
<p>Looking ahead, a <a href="https://fctuning.com/haltech/">Haltech Plug and Play or Platinum Sport 1000 ECU</a> is planned for fitment. This will give full control over the stroked 4G63 engine, allowing us to unlock its full potential with the AMS kit and higher boost. 										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p class="wp-block-paragraph">This <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mitsubishi_4G63_engine" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Mitsubishi 4G63 EVO 7</a> is running a GReddy TD05 18G turbocharger and is due another tuning session soon. During this visit, we identified a boost restriction caused by a blocked outlet nipple on the boost solenoid, which was affecting boost response. The engine was tuned via a bleed valve as a temporary measure. The <a href="https://fctuning.com/ecu-solutions/">custom ECU tune</a> will be finalised on the return visit, with some fine-tuning, a little more boost, and fuel pressure adjustments to complete the setup. This EVO 7 has real potential — watch this space.</p>

It was time to bring a little more life into this owners car, a local buddy. Pretty much as expected after nice straight forward tune (along with the mystery ball bearing that wedged itself in the n/s rear tyre.. This was sorted before any tuning. This ar also retains the factory Airbox, however it was modified by Raymond@FC along with all the upgraded parts which we supplied and fitted.
