We don’t get many of these nice conversions, so it was nice to be able to add some Haltech icing on the cake and set this 4G63 powered 4WD colt. Phase 2 would be to add some cams, verniers to dial in for max torque and an upgraded turbo and stretch the legs to the high 400s. More than enough in this chassis and a joy on the track and more than enough for the streets of London.

Fully conversion done on this Mitsubishi Colt with 4WD EVO running gear powered by the Mitsubishi 4G63. Everything is kept in check with a Haltech Engine Management System.

The post Tuning the Mitsubishi 4G63 (Colt) first appeared on FC TUNING.

Its always nice to tune 2 of the same model of car on the same day and do some baseline research. Things such as making comparison to engine compression, actuator strength and status when independent boost control is switched off. Analysing and comparing exhaust systems, breathing, intake, temperature, even asking the drivers who’s running which oil.
Seems as though this EVO 7 got the better of the younger EVO 8 on this first outing. Im expecting to see both these cars back at the workshop for further medication in the form of uprated cams and pulleys and then back on the dyno for some breathing optimisation.
Great power for an old EVO 7. As always the 4G63 in its stock form is a fantastic car when boosted and tuned with what is effectively basic bolt on modifications.
Another happy EVO owner

The post TUNING THE MITSUBISHI 4G63 first appeared on FC TUNING.

Sporting a GReddy TD05 18G, this 4G63 is due another outing. We had to pause due to a boost restriction on the outlet nipple (affecting boost response form the solenoid) Engine was tune via a bleed valve but will be back for some fine tuning in a week or so and a little more boost and fuel pressure tweeks

A nice example of a Stock Mitsubishi EVO 8 GSR – making near stock power after all the years. It was time to bring a little more life into this owners car, a local buddy. Pretty much as expected after nice straight forward tune (along with the mystery ball bearing that wedged itself in the n/s rear tyre.. This was sorted before any tuning. This ar also retains the factory Airbox, however it was modified by Raymond@FC along with all the upgraded parts which we supplied and fitted. Great Car with a new lease of life.

The post TUNING THE MITSUBISHI 4G63 (EVO 8) first appeared on FC TUNING.
