Time for an ECU upgrade in the form of ECU Masters. A nice classic setup with e GT2871R. 64 housing running a modest 1.3bar. This was the cars first ever shakedown but will be back for much more boost and power later in the year.

There is external and then there is EXTERNAL

Plenty of noise from this owners Nissan 200SX S14 SR20DET drift slag. Definitely one to be heard with its deafening noise from the screamer pipe coming due North

Enough power from the OD turbo to fling this Nissan 200sx S14 chassis sideways for its usual weekend fun, though Ive heard its been more daily fun

A Stunning stock Nissan 200sx S15 Silvia in for some prep work, ECU fitment and tuning, follow by some final optimisation on the dyno sim.

Nice torque from the original OEM Turbo and actuator and everything is kept in check with an FCTuningNistune ECU Solution.

Get your ear defenders on. This was one loud SX on the Dyno.

The Story behind this mota ?

Well in it came to the workshop with its PowerFC fitted and tuned, but low n behold sat in the boot was a lovely new Haltech ECU which the previous tuner chose not to tune. Not sure why. But this was an ideal opportunity to get the SR20DET up and running on the Haltech Platinum Sport series ECU.

So that natural thing was for us to rip out the old PowerFC (yes. okay, it does the job but it cannot offer ANY failsafe protection using the engines sensors and has no wideband control, so it had to go)

As the old saying goes, Out with the old and In with the New.

Welcome to Haltech’s Platinum Sport 1000. After rewiring the fuel pump connections and fitting the ECU, calibrating a fresh basemap we soon had some life from the beloved SR and it was off out on the road.

A few hours later on the road and after final optimisation on dyno just to see what the engine was delivering, the rest as they say is history.

The engine REALLY did perform well and this was a first for me to experience the smaller of the T2 series GTX range.

The blower on the SR20DET is courtesy of Garretts GTX2863R. A Small but yet SUPER punchy and responsive turbo which I may add makes IMPRESSIVE torque not the SR20DET engine. I was very surprised that torque was consistently over 380ft Ibs and peaking more in some places. It made me think and wonder what a couple of these little bad boys would be like in twin formation on an RB26DETT or VG30DETT engine at the time mmmm..

Anyway, a Fantastic drive from the SR. Love tuning these SR’s specced up like this, and even more so when good good modern management system is in situ

We’ll probably be back for more at some point and a 1.8bar boost tune to see what the GTX2863 is really capable of on a built SR20DET

In for a little prep before Drift Practice, a battle scarred Nissan Sil 80 sporting the old skool GT2871R, 64 housing blowing the compressed air into the classic OEM Red Top SR20DET. This ones a little different though. Check the screamer pipe outta the bonnet letting off the externally gated exhaust gases.

Another fav motor of mine, and its been a pleasure taking this one up from its stock form all the way to its current state. Nice to see it competing and being driven HARD and all powered by a FCTuningNistune ECU Solution.

And ANOTHER DW/SXOC member, back into the FC Tuning | Redline Motorsport stable for MORE power to help him go sideways that bit easier. Once again, sporting an already fitted FCTuningNistune ECU Solution but this time the power upgrade were in the form of a Ebay 20g turbo and some larger 740ccs and bigger MAF. See how well this Silvia pulled on its solid 2.0 lump
