Small injectors limited this engines power output on the night, just as well, as that night test driving it was pretty damn and that kinda of power in a FWD car can be a little frightening, especially when the driver was initially only used to 200hp with limited boost before&#8230;. However. Once the ID1000&#8217;s are fitted and the engine is retuned to suit, boost can be raised from the current 1.2bar on the ebay turbo, to 1.5bar and it will be interesting.. not bad for a 350pound turbo kit setup.. Factory Map Sensor needs to be replaced for the Omnibar 4 bar sensor and also the External Wastegate spring wasn&#8217;t allowing more than 0.3bar of boost.. So I&#8217;m looking forward to seeing this honda &#8211; round 2, as I look to tune the forged B18 turbo to around 1.3bar on the T3/T4 turbo <img src="https://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/17.0.2/72x72/1f642.png" alt="🙂" class="wp-smiley" style="height: 1em; max-height: 1em;" /> Should make for a nice point to point fast road ride</p>

<p>So this nice S2000 was sporting a popular GReddy T518Z Turbine Kit (got one of these on my own CA18DET) So im well aware of their capabilities in terms of power output. In this case it was about moderate boost, reliability and that bit more drivability for the owner.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<h1 class="wp-block-heading">Tuning the Honda K20 (DC5) – High Revving VTEC on Hondata</h1>



<p>The Honda DC5 Integra Type R is an icon for a reason – lightweight, sharp handling, and powered by the legendary K20 engine. Known for its screaming VTEC powerband and razor-sharp throttle response, the DC5 is a perfect candidate for a precise ECU calibration.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">The Setup</h3>



<p>This particular DC5 came to Motorworx running a well-maintained <strong>K20A</strong> with supporting intake and exhaust upgrades, ready to be dialled in on <strong>Hondata</strong>. The owner’s goal was to maximise usable mid-range torque while retaining the high-revving excitement the K20 is famous for.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">On the Dyno</h3>



<p>Once strapped to the rollers, the Hondata system (mated to the factory Honda ECU) allowed us to fine-tune fuelling, ignition, and VTEC engagement. The results were impressive – crisp throttle response, stronger pull from the mid-range, and a seamless transition into VTEC that keeps the engine charging hard all the way to the redline.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">The Result</h3>



<p>With its new calibration, the DC5 feels sharper than ever. The Hondata tune not only unleashes extra power but also refines drivability, making this high-revving K-series even more rewarding both on the road and track.</p>
