TUNING THE NISSAN RB25DET (R34)

Back again, this time with a Hybrid Turbo.. Actuator issues held back power on the day.. So once the owner fits the correct actuator for the turbine, then perhaps we’ll really see the potential of this staged 3 hybrid.

  1. Another great session for me yet again with Steve ” RB GOD ” Sadler.
This time it was in my neck of the woods in my native North East.
This session saw me gain roughly 40bhp with my RSP 450 hybrid turbo at 1 bar.
The turbo wasn’t even trying at this boost and i simply cannot still believe i actually swapped the Garrett actuator which came with the turbo, for my uprated HKS actuator from my stock turbo!!!
What a stupid un-thoughtout SCHOOLBOY error on my behalf – DOH!!!
I’ll swap the actuators back over and will book again with Steve in the near future to hopefully as Steve says ” see the full potential ” of my recently fitted hybrid turbo.

    I’m kinda hoping for roughly 410 – 420bhp at around 1.2 – 1.3 bar,with some more torque too.

You don’t,and never will quote me any figures Steve, like you say it’s not your style mate.
It is all about the cars newfound response and driveability.
However,in your experience mate, are these figures i’m seeking, realistic in my own guesstimation please?

Many thanks from a 100% satisfied returning customer of yours.

Also, thanks for scareing the crap outta me in the pi**ing down rain after the dyno runs matey!!!
I take it you like how my car drives then?

Oh ps. Was that 130mph in 3rd gear on the dyno mate ? !!!

    Cheers,once again from Neil.

  2. Hi Neil..

ive no idea if a RSP 450 turbo makes 450hp as ive personally not seen one do 450 . Im sure if the company that sells them and quotes that then it will do it.. Me personally im interested in what kind of torque and how EARLY the turbo spools.. and at the end of the day , the engine makes what it makes.

as for scaring the crap out of you… that was minor, hehe… See you on the track 🙂 Book yourself a track day as you looked as though you were scared of your own cars performance 🙂

    Enjoy and see you soon
