TUNING THE MITSUBISHI 4G63 (EVO 8)

This owner was back for more with one of the UK’s first ever GTX3582Rs fitted to a customers 4G63 engine (stroked to 2.4) – Garretts Latest More Efficiently designed Turbo Design.. and boy…… what a GREAT unit this really is.

The brand new Garrett GTX3582R Dual Ball Bearing Turbo. This is the new Billet version of the previous Garrett GT3582R model. This Dual Ball Bearing turbo has an Oil & Water Cooled center cartridge. This turbocharger is the new posterchild of Garrett’s turbocharger lineup. The original GT3582R paved the way for many performance enthusiasts earning its place as the best all around turbo out there for most peoples needs. The new GTX3582R makes more power, spools faster, and is all around better than the GT3582R and its proven on this customers car.. Previous tune here

Enjoy and witness the realities of whats possible..

With much more boost and even still on PUMP fuel, I believe I could have easily cranked up to 2.5bar and tuned the engine to 750+ hp (Garrett rate the turbo between 450hp – 770hp with supporting mods)

So with finer adjustments to the camshaft timing (which we didn’t have much time to do), along with race fuel as well as addressing a few other things on the engine setup, which we plan to do, expect to see over 700hp on roaming the streets of North London..

Boost was brought back to a conservative 500hp @ the wheels in order to prolonge gearbox life..

Anyway.. 500@ wheel (around 640-650hp @ the fly) is enough… or it is….

Enjoy it fella and see you soon ! – I always say… ‘After a week you’ll be bored, hehe)
